Why should I coach a soccer team?
Coaching can be a very fun and rewarding experience. When you coach a soccer team, it gives you a chance to interact with kids in a fun outdoor setting. Working with your team you guide the children in the development of not just their physical skills but also of their senses of self-esteem. Watching the kids on your team succeed and have fun is very rewarding. Nothing can take the place of getting happy high-fives and hugs from a proud child who has been successful under your guidance!
Do I need to know how to play soccer in order to coach a soccer team?
No! Some of our finest coaches do not have playing experience. What they do have is a love of and commitment to kids. GCYSA will provide as much support as necessary to help new coaches "get in the game." We will even provide one on one assistance if you like.
